About the role
Job Summary:
The Door Assembly Process Monitor is an integral role to Door Assembly. This role entails monitoring and ensuring proper processes are followed to confirm correct overall door component construction. This will include verifying correct build technique, glue application, clamp procedures, and overall quality standards are met. The Process Monitor will effectively communicate with team members the findings of their audits and will work to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Examine door components from production processes to ensure compliance with quality specifications and identify defects.
- Conduct scheduled audits across the door assembly build area to ensure adherence to quality standards and operational procedures.
- Use established methodologies to evaluate materials and processes, ensuring compliance with dimensional and functional requirements.
- Perform additional evaluations, including adherence and visual reviews, to verify compliance with specific processes.
- Investigate quality deviations and audit failures, identifying root causes and collaborating with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, audits, and findings, preparing reports to support decision-making.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance product quality and streamline processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop a thorough understanding of production and finished door processes to provide effective quality oversight and support operational goals.
- Educate team members on quality standards, proper inspection techniques, and defect recognition to foster a culture of process compliance and continuous improvement.
- Support company values and continuous improvement efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of process auditing principles and inspection techniques.
- Ability to assess product quality and identify nonconformities effectively.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills for documenting results and generating reports.
- Ability to work independently and with multiple team members.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to accurately assess and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 40 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier objects with assistance.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout the shift.
- Comfortable with repetitive movements such as reaching, grasping, and handling materials.
- Ability to work in varying temperature environments.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs and perform tasks at heights when necessary.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job.
- Ability to recognize defects, detect variations in color, and assess whether finishes meet established specifications.
Work Environment:
- Wood manufacturing facility.
- Moderate noise levels.
- Wood dust in limited quantities.
