General Purpose of Job:

The Electrical Engineer II will own and optimize the electrical design of the Upwing Compressor Systems, including all surface equipment for deployment.  They will work with the engineering team in the design and integration, and support build, test and validation of the systems that support the core compressor units, including power electronics and other surface support systems.  They will also participate in reviewing field installation plans for electrical related integration/connection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the requirements of Upwing Energy’s Quality Management System.
  • Work with engineering for the design, performance and durability of the main power delivery system (VFD, motor, cabling, transformer and supervisory control system)
  • Support the design, performance and durability of the ancillary equipment (remote data communication and storage, cooling cart, controls container – mechanical definition, 120V power supply transformer, HVAC, Hydraulic Control Center (HCC), etc.)
  • Support the design, performance and durability of the electrical systems within the compressor system
  • Work with design team and product owners to maintain BOM and electrical drawing packages for Surface Control Center (SCC), HCC, and compressor electrical components & systems
  • Review and evaluate existing system against customer requirements
  • Support the team in development efforts for new products or improvements to existing products
  • Work with experts to validate the electrical system design for present and future products
  • Interpret and draw conclusions from test data obtained during validation activities
  • Train and support production and field teams on electrical assemblies and connection processes
  • Support documentation of electrical system configuration and user guides and procedures
  • Develop and document test set ups and procedures
