About the role

Play a key role in planning, implementing, and managing marketing strategies and initiatives to promote our products, services, or brands. Develop and execute effective marketing campaigns to drive customer attainment, retention, and overall business growth. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing plans, innovation platforms, new products, product renovation, and line extensions. Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to area of responsibility and link these KPIs to divisional goals. Execute best-in-class marketing practices. Demonstrate a combination of strategic thinking, creativity, and data-driven decision-making to achieve marketing objectives. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, guide, and develop direct reports, including setting priorities, providing coaching, and supporting performance and professional growth 
  • Manage marketing strategy for assigned Farm Services business units, developing integrated plans that support business goals, brand positioning, customer engagement, and innovation priorities 
  • Develop and execute Farm Services staff communication strategies, including town halls, leadership messaging, employee engagement communications, and internal updates that support clarity and alignment 
  • Develop cross-promotional and collaborative marketing strategies across Farm Services businesses to increase awareness, improve coordination, and support a consistent One DFA market approach 
  • Support Farm Services collaboration with Farm Practices and Sustainability initiatives to align messaging, resources, and farmer engagement strategies 
  • Provide strategic marketing support for Risk Management initiatives, strengthening coordination, promotional planning, and communication of program value to internal and external audiences 
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage Area membership staff, including field-facing communication, product and program promotion, and direct interaction with Area Farm Services Leads and field teams 
  • Develop tradeshow, conference, and farmer engagement strategies, including testimonial development, video and photo content, and other materials that strengthen farmer connection and participation 
  • Manage enhanced promotional strategy for the Member Savings Network, collaborating with partner marketing teams to increase awareness, engagement, and value for members 
  • Support overall strategy for engaging with DFA farmer-owners 
  • Support DFA Farm Services-related events, including, but not limited to tradeshows, Annual Meeting expo, Farm Services Conference, strategy sessions, etc.  
  • Support DFA Animal Nutrition marketing initiatives, including new product launches, farmer and calf-team resource materials, non-member marketing strategies, and dealer network support 
  • Strengthen Farm Services messaging and suite-of-services positioning to support a unified One DFA go-to-market approach 
  • Help maintain Farm Services and related business collateral, including the development of new or updating existing content  
  • Partner with marketing specialists to establish and monitor KPIs for marketing initiatives and communicate results to stakeholders 
  • Deliver presentations and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners 
  • Support budget management, including tracking spend and assisting with forecasting and resource allocation

Education and Experience 

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of education and experience) 
  • 5 to 8 years of marketing or related experience, including demonstrated project management skills or experience 
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics 
  • Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite, company computer systems, and social marketing platforms 
  • Action-oriented with the ability to think and react quickly to changing circumstances 
  • Able to independently lead cross-functional project team and manage projects 
  • Able to multi-task activities with shifting priorities 
  • Able to create strong, positive cross-functional relationships 
  • Able to interpret data and draw actionable insights to optimize marketing efforts 
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, with strong copy-writing skills 
  • Able to think creatively to develop engaging marketing campaigns and content 
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English 

Travel: 15% - 25% (1 - 2 times per quarter)
