Lead Firefighter (Hazardous Materials Technician)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Serves as a crew chief in charge of firefighting personnel on a specified shift.

Distributes and balances the workload among employees, assuring timely accomplishment of the assigned workload while making day-to-day adjustments with established priorities.

Serves as a driver/operator, driving and operating firefighting apparatus of significant complexity.

Serves as a firefighter providing fire protection and respond to medical emergencies as a first responder.

Performs maintenance, operational, housekeeping, emergency, and standby duties.
