Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
Sentara Heart Hospital | Norfolk, Virginia
Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team!
Education
- Associate’s degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Virginia RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license eligibility required
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Must meet and maintain additional life support requirements defined by the clinical area
Experience
- 2 years of cardiac or critical care nursing experience required
Position Highlights
- $30,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates
- Full-time days | 40 hours per week
- Four 10-hour shifts – 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Call is required
- Competitive pay: $41.93–$61.01/hr based on years of nursing experience

About the Cardiac Cath Lab
The Cardiac Cath Lab RN provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
In this specialized procedural environment, the RN works closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary cardiovascular team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care before, during, and after procedures.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiac nurse interested in expanding their expertise in cardiac catheterization and procedural nursing while joining a skilled cardiovascular team.
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse provides competent nursing care using critical thinking and the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, patient education, health promotion, and evaluation.
The RN demonstrates clinical knowledge and skills consistent with professional nursing standards and the specialized requirements of the Cardiac Cath Lab. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, documenting care, and advocating for each patient’s safety, comfort, dignity, and well-being.
