Serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist (General Investigative Skill Instructor) GS-1801-12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Investigative Operations Division (IOD) under the Technical Training Operations Directorate and located in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Law Enforcement Specialist (General Investigative Skills Instructor) which involves planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the division's training programs. Typical duties include: Conducting training in basic and advanced areas such as the: Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) and Introduction to Criminal Investigations (ICITP). Courses instructed by GIS include Physical Evidence, Identity Documents, Fingerprints, Criminal Investigations and Case Management, Report Writing and Documentation, Surveillance, Operational Planning, Execution of a Search Warrant, Undercover Operations, and Radio communications. Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and/or recommending remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions.
