About the role

The Manager, Parts Technical Development (PTD), leads a 45-member technical team responsible for the accurate, compliant, and on-time development, release, maintenance, and cataloging of service parts for North American vehicle programs and global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership, Operations, and Launch Readiness

  • Lead, mentor, and develop 45 technical professionals across service-parts analysis, catalog compilation, illustration, and specification.
  • Align resources, commodity ownership, priorities, KPIs, and training with engineering groups and vehicle-program milestones.
  • Own North American launch readiness 28 weeks before Job 1, monitor program risks, and drive cross-functional resolution with Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory, Suppliers, Marketing, Call Center, and global teams.

Service Parts and Catalog Delivery

  • Oversee the setup and release of 8,000–10,000 new service parts and 2,000–2,500 change-notice updates annually.
  • Ensure accurate EBOM-to-SBOM-to-SPA data flow, validation, naming, supplier coordination, and regional integration.
  • Deliver approximately 40 StarParts catalogs annually, each averaging 5,000 parts and 300 illustrations, with accurate usage, market variants, and technical artwork.
  • Manage embargoed data, catalog corrections, international requirements, and timely resolution of assigned JIRA issues.
  • Manage Level 3 support for more than 350 monthly catalog and part-related cases, ensuring triage, root-cause analysis, ownership, and closure.
  • Maintain disciplined JIRA governance and data integrity across parts, illustrations, catalog structures, and engineering changes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant automotive service-parts, engineering, program-management, or technical-publishing experience.
  • Proven leadership of large technical teams and complex, time-sensitive cross-functional programs.
  • Strong knowledge of BOMs, engineering changes, service-parts development, technical cataloging, and launch readiness.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, EBOM/SBOM, SAE, Qlik, SAP, JIRA, and authoring or graphics tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global cataloging, international service requirements, and technical-illustration workflow experience.
  • Master's in Engineering
