We're seeking grants management professionals at multiple experience levels to support the full award lifecycle-from reviewing applications and negotiating awards to monitoring performance and ensuring responsible stewardship of federal funds. If you're analytical, collaborative, and passionate about supporting vital research, explore a career with NIH.

As a Grants Management Specialist, you will participate in the planning and business management of assigned grants and renewal applications. Responsibilities include: Negotiating budgets, award periods, and grant terms and conditions. Advising applicants and grantees on financial and management matters. Administering an assigned portfolio, including establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Ensuring award recipients comply with applicable administrative and financial policies, procedures, and sound business practices. Processing grant and agreement applications used to make award decisions. Interpreting and providing guidance on relevant statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures. Providing guidance and training to lower-graded grants management staff. Responsibilities vary by grade level: GS-11: Plan and manage assigned grants and renewal applications. GS-12: Manage pre-award and post-award activities and contribute to policy development and implementation. GS-13: Coordinate a complex portfolio of grants, agreements, and technical special projects. Employees selected at the GS-11 or GS-12 level will perform similar duties with less complexity, closer supervision, and more detailed guidance.
