About the role

The Project Management Office (PMO) Planning team is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to support program execution across multiple vehicle programs. The PMO is a critical function within Vehicle and Platform Execution, responsible for driving standardized processes and ensuring delivery of technical, quality, timing, and cost targets, while maintaining clear visibility into overall program health. 

The Planning Specialist Lead is responsible for leading and developing a team of Planning Specialists who support Vehicle Planning Managers across programs. Planning Specialists maintain a functional reporting relationship with their assigned Planning Managers, with direct reporting into the Planning Specialist Lead. 

This role ensures consistent execution of planning deliverables, including program timing, labor planning, investment tracking, and milestone adherence. The Planning Specialist Lead drives alignment to PMO standards, tools, and methodologies, while enabling efficient and scalable execution across the organization. 

In addition, the role contributes to PMO strategy and continuous improvement through workforce planning, process governance, resource optimization, and implementation of best practices. 

This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and ensure alignment between program objectives and PMO strategic priorities. 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Lead, coach, staff, and develop Planning Specialists, including onboarding, training, and performance management 
  • Collaborate with service providers for external resourcing requirements, processes, and audit requirements 
  • Assign resources and balance workload across programs to ensure effective execution 
  • Assess high-level and detailed timing schedules to ensure milestone and Product Development Process (PDP) adherence and feasibility 
  • Standardize planning processes, deliverables, and reporting across the teams while identifying efficiency opportunities 
  • Escalate program risks and drive resolution of key cross-functional issues 
  • Forecast actual to plan resource counts across multiple organizations  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 8 years of overall experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry with an OEM or major Tier 1 supplier, including experience in one or more of the following areas: Product Development Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or Quality.
  • Experience in program planning, scheduling, or PMO environments  
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills  
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills  
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment  
  • Proven ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in vehicle program management, vehicle validation, or PMO planning 
  • Understanding of Stellantis Product Development Process (PDP) 
  • Vehicle launch and/or manufacturing experience 
  • Experience leading teams in a matrix environment 
  • Full vehicle development life-cycle experience  
  • Familiarity with Stellantis tools and systems
