SUPERVISORY PARAMEDIC (EMS CHIEF)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the EMS Chief with responsibility for the overall management and supervision of the Emergency Medical Service Program that provides EMS to the installation assigned. Fort Jackson, SC

Manage the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program for the assigned Army or Joint Base installation and provides subject matter and training expertise in all operations at the responder level.

Evaluate and prepare an EMS needs assessment and reviews for updates annually.

Develop, write, and submit to the Senior Commander and HQDA EMS Program Office for approval a detailed Installation EMS Plan.

Develop, and implement supply, equipment and personnel budgets and plans.

Assign work to subordinates based upon priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty, and employee capability.

Prepare and issue relevant operating procedures and provide assignment instructions as appropriate.

Ensure developmental and training needs of employees are identified and that training is provided to employees.

Respond to accidents and other emergencies on the installation involving injuries and illnesses and sometimes encounter situations which may be life threatening.
