BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Opens business accounts, increases deposits, and obtains all required documents. Cross-sells other business and non-business products to business members.

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Opens new business accounts, share and checking, and other deposit products.
• Looks for opportunities with current and prospective business members to cross-sell business and consumer products when appropriate.
• Acts as resource for expediting technical resources and products that will increase our capability to service business members.
• Explains to business members and prospective business members the philosophy, purpose, objectives and policies as they relate to the services of the credit union.
• In general, supports the business services function.
• Communicates with business members when lenders are not available.
• Creates opportunities to sell all credit union products and services to business members.
• Exercises professionalism and good judgment in dealing with members and coworkers.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.
• Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must demonstrate critical and analytical thinking skills and must be able to make decisions within and outside of the business lending policy.
• Excellent oral communication skills, good writing skills and responsive to member’s needs.
• Spanish speaking preferred
• Project a professional image and neat appearance.
• Extensive and detailed knowledge of all type of products offered by GECU, ranging from trust services to mortgages.
• Knowledge of Federal and State Credit Union laws governing business lending
• Thorough knowledge of the different business products such as commercial real estate, lines of credit and letters of credit.
• Knowledge of the various Small Business Administration (SBA) programs, in particular the SBA Express Program, the Community Express Program and the SBA 504 Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent with two years similar or related experience.
• Requires sitting the majority of the day, lifting up to 10 pounds, bending, twisting and kneeling occasionally, reaching above shoulder level frequently, reaching below shoulder level continuously.

Availability Requirements: Monday- Friday: 8:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Rotating schedule to meet membership and department needs
