People Development Lead

The People Development Lead (Learning and Development Manager) will oversee the Production Manufacturing team in core competency development working closely with the Production Leadership. Based on the plant’s main KPI’s (OPE, DRR, Cost) will develop a training strategy in conjunction with Production Leadership. This includes but is not limited to Annual Training Planning, Proactive Launch Training; Training Documentation; Operational needs; Implementation and modification of training plan; Manufacturing Training areas; Evaluation of training effectiveness; training modalities. Works with Quality Organization to ensure ISO requirements are met. Drives inclusion with Production Union training entities.  

Roles and responsibilities: 

• Conduct gap analysis based on losses to determine training strategy and needs 
• Annual training budget development and monitoring 
• Oversee floor training documentation: OPL, JES, etc. 
• Determine training modalities: Manufacturing Training Areas, On-the-Job Training, Classroom, etc.  
• Drive Trainer Development (Train the Trainer) 
• Ensure training preparedness: Trainers, facilities, etc. 
• Measure effectiveness of training 
• Maintain up-to-date training/skill records 
• Working with the floor
• Determine implementation strategies and schedule 
• Drive floor flexibility within Production Teams (3x3x3 attainment) 
• Coordinate and manage the delivery of training 
• Manage and present SIS PD criteria 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in manufacturing and/or training and development
• Ability to analyze data and formulate actions 
• Problem Solving experience 
• Strong organizational, planning and communication skills 
• Able coach and lead a training team 
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization to get results 
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint 
• Creative thinking 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Familiar with plant systems: FIS, PFS, Palantir, etc. 
• Certified Train the Trainer – Delivery and Development 
• Experience in floor goal-oriented coaching
