RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients in outpatient clinics. This role also serves as a mentor and subject matter expert (SME) to other Registered Nurses (RNs).
This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week from 8am-4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(60%) Patient Care
- Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and reduce apprehension
- Screens patient prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications
- Educates patient and family about pre, intra, and post procedure care
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments (i.e. contrasts and sedations) in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care
- Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
- Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
- Monitors patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
- Documents patient history and physical assessment for assigned patients
- Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction
(25%) Department Support
- Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities
- Serves as subject matter expert for the team and other departments
- Assists in establishing, evaluating and updating patient care standards
- Maintains patient monitoring equipment and nursing equipment
- Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
- Evaluates workflow, makes recommendations for and helps implement process improvements
- Ensures comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures and protocols for all nursing staff
- Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related items
- Manages overall staffing levels for adequate coverage at all times
- Establishes employee schedules to provide for planned vacations and time off
- Monitors medication supply inventory
(10%) Leadership Duties
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and abilities, remaining approachable and objective
- Manage all hiring and retention processes, responsible for initial and ongoing training of new & existing team members
- Initiate and participate in team member performance evaluations, compensation, and development, and conduct performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and/or up to termination if necessary
- Facilitate and lead regular team meetings and team member one-on-one (1:1) meeting's with each direct report team member and ensure your direct report leaders are doing the same.
- Mentor and support team members, encouraging a culture of collaboration, compensation & HR systems excellence, accountability, and continuous learning and improvement
- Determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths
- Ensure compliance with all annual trainings/testing (TB testing, flu, CPR, etc.)
- Assists manager in gaining support for unit goals and plans
(5%) Other Duties and Projects as Assigned
Required:
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Associate degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse with current appropriate state licensure, current and in good standing
- Five (5) years' nursing experience in a hospital or clinic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Requires current Tuberculosis (TB) test
- Some travel is required between sites; a reliable means of transportation is required.
- Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance is required for the team member to personally drive a vehicle for company business (regardless of whether it's a company or personal vehicle)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Experience in outpatient radiology
- Bilingual
