Job Summary:
This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing process for domestic commodities and services (including MRO purchases). The ideal candidate acts as a collaborative, customer-focused team member who drives cost savings while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of the procurement process for strategic sourcing..
- Perform Best Practices in purchase of select commodities/services.
- Uphold a team-oriented, customer-focused and outward mindset environment within Purchasing role.
- Able to represent the Purchasing team in a professional, knowledgeable and empathic manner.
- Proactively build valuable partnerships with new and/or existing suppliers, domestic and international.
- Identify, develop and audit a committed supply base capable of supporting corporate objectives.
- Strong negotiations expertise and respect of supplier relationships, resulting in achievement of annual savings goals and cost reduction initiatives.
- Define and implement innovative improvement efforts within Purchasing and related cross-functional teams, including value-add initiatives and cross-training for risk management purposes.
- Comply with inventory valuation/turn goals, participate in physical inventories.
- Effectively support and communicate continuous improvement requests for supplier quality issues.
- Measurable performance in resolving delivery, quality and payment discrepancies.
- Participate in certification audits for TS/IATF16949, FSC, environmental, etc.
- Maintain Approved Vendors List and related performance measurements, with adherence to TS/IATF16949 quality procedures.
- Review and promote service/supply agreements to best protect corporate interests.
- Exhibit a passion to learn and grow as a valuable member of Tweddle’s team.
- Uphold Corporate Mission and Vision, to ensure Tweddle’s core values are mastered.
- Manage MRO purchases including service issues.
- Negotiate volume discounts.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business and/or supply chain management.
- 3-5 years professional purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of MRO process including service issues.
- Basic understanding of logistics.
- Basic understanding or manufacturing.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Professional oral and written communications.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proactive focus in keeping commitments.
- Computer proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirements
- Minimal travel may be required.
