Health Technician (Audiology)
About the role
This position is in the Audiology Service at Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare Systems in Biloxi, MS; Mobile, AL; Pensacola, FL; and/or Panama City Beach, FL. The duties and responsibilities are carried out in all clinical and other patient care areas involved with the Audiology service and may require travel.
Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties performed include, but are not limited to the following: Provide patient care supporting diagnostic and treatment procedures. Patient charting and patient education including hearing conservation which do not require a full professional audiology education or knowledge and skills represented by audiology licensure support functions include both direct and administration duties. Possess the ability to mentor and train new health technicians in audiology direct patient care. Ensures clinical readiness and patient satisfaction through accurate testing, efficient equipment use, and effective patient communication. Enables audiologists to concentrate on diagnostic complexities and therapeutic planning by managing technical and preparatory responsibilities. Organizes and sanitizes clinic rooms, sound booths, and audiometric equipment. Manage office supplies tracking loaner stock hearing aid inventory electronic ordering verifying orders upon arrival to ensure components are present and working correctly. Schedule appointments packaging and mailing hearing aids and accessories processing ROES transactions Work Schedule: Monday- Friday : 07:00am-4:00pm (Subject to Change Based on the Needs of the Facility) Recruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
