About the role

The Megahub Packaging Manager is responsible for leading packaging operations within a large-scale, high-volume parts packaging, warehousing, and distribution environment supporting the Parts & Services organization in North America. This role oversees the packaging and storage of replenishment parts, customer order parts, regional Tier PDC network volume, rest-of-world export orders, and direct-facing customer fulfillment across commercial portfolios.

Operating within a 2.1M square-foot Megahub, the Packaging Manager ensures packaging operations deliver safe, accurate, timely, cost-effective, and customer-focused execution in support of approximately $5–$6B in annual retail and wholesale sales targets and strategic initiatives.

Mission and Purpose:

The mission of the Megahub Packaging Manager is to lead packaging center operations that support replenishment, customer order fulfillment, export demand, and direct customer service requirements. The role provides end-to-end leadership across packaging flow, customer prioritization, budget management, labor relations, customer voice response, critical and emergency order execution, and continuous improvement of the overall packaging business housed within the Megahub.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily packaging center operations supporting replenishment parts, customer order parts, regional Tier PDC network requirements, rest-of-world export orders, and direct-facing customer fulfillment.
  • Ensure packaging operations meet customer expectations for quality, accuracy, speed, safety, labeling, compliance, and delivery readiness.
  • Manage operational performance across safety, quality, throughput, productivity, cost, service levels, inventory accuracy, packaging accuracy, and employee engagement metrics.
  • Develop staffing, scheduling, labor planning, and workforce deployment plans to support volume fluctuations, customer priorities, emergency orders, and business initiatives.
  • Partner with warehouse operations, supply chain, transportation, inventory control, quality, engineering, HR, and labor relations teams to ensure seamless execution across the facility.
  • Own budget management for packaging operations, including labor, overtime, supplies, packaging materials, equipment utilization, productivity improvement, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Support customer Voice of the Customer feedback, escalation response, corrective action planning, and service recovery efforts tied to packaging accuracy, timeliness, and fulfillment reliability.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve packaging flow, standard work, material utilization, space optimization, process reliability, safety, quality, and overall Megahub performance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, quality procedures, packaging specifications, inventory controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team through clear accountability, performance management, employee engagement, succession planning, and leadership development.

Key Decisions and Accountabilities:

  • Customer Prioritization: Determines packaging priorities to balance replenishment demand, customer orders, export requirements, direct customer needs, and emergency fulfillment.
  • Budget Management: Manages packaging operating expenses, labor spend, overtime, packaging materials, equipment utilization, productivity performance, and cost-control actions.
  • Labor Relations: Supports workforce engagement and issue resolution in partnership with HR, labor relations, operations leadership, and union stakeholders where applicable.
  • Customer Voice: Uses customer feedback, service metrics, quality concerns, and escalation trends to strengthen packaging reliability and customer responsiveness.
  • Critical and Emergency Orders: Ensures urgent packaging requirements are identified, prioritized, processed, and released with appropriate speed and accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifies and implements process, layout, material flow, standard work, technology, and workforce improvements that enhance overall packaging performance within the Megahub.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, business, engineering, packaging, industrial technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in packaging, warehousing, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large teams in a high-volume, complex packaging, warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of packaging operations, material flow, inventory control, fulfillment processes, labor planning, safety standards, quality systems, and performance management.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor deployment, productivity targets, packaging materials, service-level metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, resolve operational issues, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive customer and business-critical situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, business, engineering, packaging, industrial technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience in automotive aftermarket, service parts, parts distribution, export operations, packaging center operations, or multi-node distribution networks.
  • Prior experience working in a unionized environment or partnering closely with labor relations teams.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, supply chain, logistics, packaging, or operations leadership certification.
  • Experience supporting direct-to-customer, dealer, wholesale, export, or commercial portfolio fulfillment models.
