Job Summary: The Amenity Attendant is responsible for the general supervision of the fitness center and amenity spaces, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests while delivering outstanding customer service and supporting all day-to-day amenity operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and clean all fitness equipment and facility areas.
- Greet guests, explain available programs and activities, provide basic equipment orientation, and refer any training‑related questions to certified staff.
- Monitor and oversee facility access and usage, support access‑control procedures, and ensure only authorized members and guests enter the space.
- Manage reservations and scheduling for fitness amenities, programs, services, spa appointments, and personal training using approved systems.
- Process payments accurately, including cash handling, POS transactions, member purchases, and daily reconciliation.
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies and retail products; track usage, replenish stock, and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Check equipment functionality, complete daily procedures and checklists, and report maintenance needs, work orders, incidents, or accidents to the Fitness Director
- Respond to and resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate member attendance records and support compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Maintain staff communication logs and complete detailed shift handoffs to support operational continuity.
- Assist with special events and programs, including setup, breakdown, custodial support, and equipment movement.
- Tend to towel service for pool and fitness areas when applicable.
- Attend required meetings and trainings; maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
- Experience with customer service, facility operations, reservations, retail sales, cash handling, or front desk operations preferred.
- Previous experience in fitness, recreation, hospitality, wellness, or amenity operations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with members, guests, residents, tenants, vendors, and staff.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.
- Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn reservation, access control, scheduling, and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to accurately process transactions, maintain records, and handle cash in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when appropriate.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
