About the role
PURPOSE/RESPONSIBILITY:
Provide support in the coordination of all daily production activities including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Employee must be able to see different characteristics in wood products.
Role model for C.I.T.E. principles.
• Act as team leader when needed.
• Assist team leader with daily department activities in order to meet plant goals for SQDC.
• Review all past due, day one items, and non-conforming material.
• Assist team leader with training team members in safety, machine operation, quality specifications, and standard work.
• Inspect work-in-process to ensure compliance with AWC quality standards.
• Operate equipment in a safe and productive manner.
• Complete cross-training requirements to be able to perform the essential functions of positions in client/provider departments.
• Must be able to understand and follow general safety instructions for a manufacturing environment and any specific safety instructions for this position.
• Be present for regularly scheduled shift work.
• Work together with team members to meet production goals.The employee is required to speak and communicate with other employees. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
General Requirements:
• Basic computer skills.
• Self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others.
• Willing to work overtime with little, or no notice. Overtime and weekend work may be required with same day notice.
• Certified Peer Trainer (CPT) or able to obtain CPT certification.
• Willing to work flexible hours based on production needs.
• Able to present operational metrics to small groups.
• May be required to obtain and maintain AWC forklift license.
Education, Experience and Skills
• High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function independently without direct supervision and as part of a team.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as but not limited to production reports, scheduling reports, standard work documents, etc. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Other mathematical skills may be required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw reasonable conclusions through critical thinking skills.
