Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. Repairs failing equipment and keeps records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment.

Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget and on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. Properly communicates any needs or problems related to the maintenance or repair of equipment to supervisor.

Trains subordinate employees to perform their assigned duties. Instructs and trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.

Orders materials, supplies, tools, and equipment, and assures that all tools, vehicles, and equipment is operational and in safe working condition. Schedules, assigns, and directs the work of subordinate employees.

Inspects diagnoses and may conduct repairs on varies type of golf course maintenance equipment (diesel and electric golf carts, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers) and other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
