About the role
Provide clerical and administrative support within the guidelines of supervisory instruction, departmental policies and procedures and GCIC manuals. Report to District Attorney or other designated person and work with office personnel. law enforcement personnel, court personnel, County and state employees and the general public to efficiently provide support to the office.
Key Responsibilities and Performance Standards
- Prepare digital discovery for each file for defense attorneys, generate sub poenas and court notices, and manage court calendars in Outlook.
- Run criminal histories in compliance with GCIC policy.
- Serve as liaison between attorneys, investigators, clients, City Officials, and the public using judgment and discretion when responding
- Assist assistant district attorneys, investigators and victims; take necessary actions and handle matters not requiring managerial disposition.
- Answer phones at switchboard and desk responding to attorneys, clients, City Officials and the public using discretion and sound judgment when responding.
Depending upon area of assignment:
Positions in this class typically require walking, pushing. pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling. talking. hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Work is performed in an office setting.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to IO pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exceed forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School diploma, trade school or GED required; supplemented by
Experience: Sufficient experience to perform principal duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Considerable knowledge of policies, procedures and activities of the department.
* Possess the ability to independently manage all administrative components of legal processes and is sensitive to due dates and deadlines.
* Demonstrate so lid independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations.
* Considerable knowledge of modern office procedures.
* Proficiency in computer and standard office equipment and interpersonal relations
* Good communication skills, both oral and written
