AIR OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

The primary purpose of this position is to provide the United States Air Force a unique capability to plan, organize, coordinate, and employ special operations in support of sensitive, compartmented, and special access missions directed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF).

1. Responsible for planning, coordinating, dispatching, monitoring and supporting special air operations flights, and the management of associated unit flying hour programs. 2. Supports air operations mission taskings and acts as liaison to multiple outside and/or federal agencies. 3. Provides management and direction to ensure timely mission planning and support expertise.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
