Five Steakhouse at Saint John’s Resort is seeking an experienced polished and hands on Restaurant General Manager to lead our team. This is an opportunity to oversee a refined dining experience where precision hospitality attention to detail and elevated service standards define every guest interaction.

Five Steakhouse is a modern fine dining steakhouse rooted in classic technique and elevated by contemporary execution. The experience is defined by premium cuts expertly prepared composed seasonal accompaniments and a thoughtfully curated wine and beverage program. Service is intentional paced and highly attentive designed to create a seamless and memorable dining journey from arrival through departure.

Position Overview

The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership strategy and execution of the Five Steakhouse experience. This leader sets the tone for service culture operational excellence financial performance and team development while serving as a visible and engaged presence within the restaurant.

You understand that luxury hospitality is built through consistency anticipation attention to detail and genuine connection. You lead with confidence professionalism and accountability while coaching a high performing team to execute elevated service standards at every touchpoint. You create an environment where associates take pride in their work ownership of the guest experience and commitment to excellence.

This role requires a leader who can balance high level operational oversight with hands on floor presence. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced luxury environment and can effectively lead service culinary collaboration financial accountability and people development while maintaining composure and refinement during peak service periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all daily operations of Five Steakhouse including dining room bar and service execution
  • Maintain a strong and consistent presence on the floor ensuring service flows with precision intention and hospitality
  • Drive a culture of luxury service excellence through coaching accountability and active leadership
  • Develop and mentor front of house leaders and associates with a focus on fine dining service standards wine knowledge guest engagement and professionalism
  • Partner closely with culinary and beverage leadership to ensure alignment in execution pacing presentation and overall guest experience
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively address opportunities to elevate the dining experience
  • Lead hiring onboarding training and performance management for front of house associates and leadership
  • Manage labor scheduling payroll controls and operational efficiencies while maintaining service standards
  • Oversee financial performance including revenue labor cost beverage cost and profitability initiatives
  • Support inventory controls purchasing and beverage program oversight including wine and spirits management
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety sanitation alcohol service and operational standards
  • Foster a culture of professionalism accountability teamwork and pride in the details
  • Step in operationally wherever needed to support the team and uphold service standards

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required post secondary education preferred
  • Minimum of five years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience required
  • Previous General Manager or senior restaurant leadership experience in a fine dining steakhouse or upscale luxury restaurant environment strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading high volume upscale dining operations with elevated service standards
  • ServSafe certification required or ability to obtain within a specified time period
  • Valid food safety and sanitation certifications as required by state and local regulations
  • Alcohol service certification preferred or required based on local compliance

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire coach and develop high performing teams
  • Deep understanding of fine dining service standards including pacing coursing guest interaction and service choreography
  • Strong financial acumen including labor management forecasting and cost control
  • Extensive knowledge of wine spirits and elevated beverage service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests associates and leadership
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency in execution
  • Ability to remain composed decisive and solution focused during high volume service periods
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a high expectation environment
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays
