About the role
Product Marketing Manager, K-12 EdTech
Remote (U.S.) · Up to $100K base · Reports to the Chief Marketing Officer
Securly safetyOS™ brings together every layer of K-12 student safety into one intelligent platform. More than 27,000 schools use Securly, and we've documented over 2,400 student lives saved. Principals rely on us to keep students safe and make sure every student gets the support they need to learn. We're hiring a Product Marketing Manager to lead marketing for the products we sell directly to schools. The right person has worked in edtech and knows how principals think. They're an exceptional writer and a strong project manager who can turn that understanding into messaging and campaigns that reach more of the schools that need us.
The role
You'll be the primary owner of product marketing for Pass and Flex, including growing market share for both. You'll also contribute to marketing for every product in the safetyOS bundles we sell to schools.
Pass is the most widely adopted digital hall pass in K-12. It helps schools manage student movement, reduce hallway incidents, and get time back for instruction. 71% of customers say that Pass increased instructional time.
Flex moves intervention and enrichment into the school day. The students who need the most help are often the ones who can't stay after school. At Dickinson ISD in Texas, Biology STAAR retesters went from 25% to 76% passing with Gator Time, the flex period they run on Securly Flex.
You'll join a high-performing marketing team that includes a Senior Product Marketing Manager focused on district buyers, plus customer marketing, demand gen, marketing ops, field marketing, and two graphic designers.
Part of your job is backing up that Senior PMM. You'll help take in marketing collateral requests from across the company and pitch in on bigger initiatives that go beyond Pass and Flex. It's a good way to learn the full Securly portfolio and how we sell to districts.
What you'll do
- Help shape the story we tell about Pass and Flex. You'll audit our current positioning and messaging, find the gaps, recommend what to change, and then make the changes.
- Run launches for new products and features from start to finish. You'll build the timeline and checklist, make sure everyone knows what they own, and keep Product, Sales, and CS on schedule without letting quality slip.
- Grow market share for Pass and Flex, and track how your work contributes to the team's goals for demand gen and opportunities created.
- Write website content and help build product demos that show principals how Pass and Flex work in their buildings.
- Build the sales assets reps use every day, including decks, one-pagers, video scripts, and battlecards.
- Keep Sales and Customer Success current on new products, messaging, and competitive moves so reps feel confident selling to principals.
- Talk to customers. You'll run interviews and surveys and use what you learn to sharpen our messaging and give Product useful input.
- Host and present webinars and other public-facing content.
- Support the Senior PMM on district-focused work, including taking in collateral requests from across the company and helping with larger initiatives outside Pass and Flex.
What success looks like
You'll start with a structured onboarding and clear priorities. Here's what the first year typically looks like.
First 90 days. You're learning our products, customers, and competitors, and getting to know the people in Product, Sales, CS, and Marketing you'll work with every day. You've joined a launch already in progress, refreshed the messaging for at least one product, started customer interviews, and shipped your first piece of sales enablement that reps are using.
Six months. You're running go-to-market for Pass and Flex, you've launched several features, and you've built a launch playbook the team can reuse. Sales has battlecards and enablement they trust because you keep them current.
Twelve months. You're the person Sales, CS, and Product go to when they have a question about Pass and Flex. You can point to the impact your work had on adoption and pipeline, and you've set up a steady rhythm of customer research that shows up in roadmap conversations.
These milestones are typical examples, but may change based on need.
Who we're looking for
We care most about two things: that you understand schools, and that you're sharp and learn quickly. If you've worked in education or edtech in any role and you've done product marketing work along the way, even if it wasn't in your title, we want to hear from you.
- Education or edtech experience, strongly preferred. It doesn't have to be in product marketing. Teaching, school leadership, or a sales, customer success, or marketing role at an edtech company all count.
- Hands-on product marketing experience. You've worked on launches, positioning, or sales enablement. Experience at a B2B SaaS company is a plus.
- A track record as a top performer in the roles you've held.
- Strong project management. You can own a project from start to finish and keep several stakeholders on schedule.
- Strong writing and speaking skills, with your own voice. You write the way principals talk, and you're comfortable presenting to educators on a webinar or at a conference.
- Comfort using AI as a tool without handing your thinking or your voice over to it.
- You learn fast. You can get up to speed on our products, our buyers, and our market quickly.
How you work
- You sweat the details. Every asset that reaches a school administrator should be accurate, clear, and worth their time.
- You have good original ideas and you aren't shy about sharing them.
- You're curious about customers and keep digging into what's working and why.
- You move with urgency and don't wait to be told what to do next.
- You take feedback well and get better quickly.
- You drive your own work. You'll have a team of experts and plenty of resources around you, but you bring your own ideas, grounded in the market and a deep understanding of our products and buyers.
A realistic look at the job
Some weeks you'll be deep in a launch, coordinating Product, Sales, and Creative to hit a date. Other weeks you'll be writing a one-pager and a video script, interviewing customers, or rebuilding a pitch after hearing why we lost a deal. We measure this role by how Pass and Flex grow: adoption, pipeline, and whether reps win more often because of what you built. It moves fast, and you'll work closely with senior leadership.
The people who do well in this role build a track record that leads to bigger portfolios and broader product marketing leadership at Securly.
