IT SPECIALIST (APPSW)

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

Provide technical support and guidance to staff on complex IT management issues that extend and apply to the entire organization or its major components.

Design, document, develop, modify, test, install, implement, and support new or existing applications software across the enterprise.

Analyze and refine system requirements, translate requirements into application prototypes, and maintain secure code repositories.

Conduct fact-finding and research to define the scope of new requirements, identifying source data needs and final deliverables for client/server database applications.

Evaluate available equipment, software, scalability for future changes, system interoperability, and forecast manpower and hardware resource requirements.

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS/GG-13 grade level.
