About the role
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Water Transfer Operator / Technician to support field operations in the Carlsbad, NM area. This position will be responsible for operating and monitoring water transfer equipment while supporting active frac operations.
The ideal candidate will have previous water transfer and frac-site experience. Previous lead or supervisory experience is strongly preferred, as this individual will help oversee water transfer activities during fracing operations, coordinate field personnel, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Oversee and support water transfer operations during active frac jobs.
Monitor water levels, flow rates, pressures, pumps, hoses, manifolds, and related water transfer equipment.
Start, stop, operate, and troubleshoot pumps and other transfer equipment.
Coordinate water movement to ensure adequate and continuous water supply for frac operations.
Provide field direction and oversight to water transfer personnel as needed.
Communicate with frac crews, field leadership, and other onsite personnel regarding water needs and operational changes.
Identify and troubleshoot leaks, equipment issues, pressure changes, and other operational problems.
Perform routine inspections of pumps, hoses, valves, manifolds, and containment systems.
Assist with rig-up and rig-down of water transfer equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure operations follow company and site-specific safety requirements.
Complete required field documentation and communicate shift updates to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
Previous water transfer experience in oil & gas operations required.
Previous experience supporting or working around frac operations strongly preferred.
Previous lead, supervisor, or crew oversight experience preferred.
Working knowledge of pumps, hoses, manifolds, valves, flow rates, and water transfer systems.
Ability to troubleshoot common water transfer equipment and operational issues.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple crews in a fast-paced field environment.
Must be safety-conscious and comfortable working around active frac operations.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be local to Carlsbad, NM or the surrounding area. Housing, per diem, and relocation assistance are not available.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
