LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for facilitating communication in the hourly production team.  Responsibilities include assisting the supervisor with training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a safe working environment at all times, including housekeeping and compliance to safety rules.
• Effectively communicate with the Supervisor.
• Actively participate in continuous improvements.
• Support Supervisor’s decisions and discuss disagreements privately.
• Know all inventory locations.
• Know all DR’s, DF’s and FR’s.
• Must have knowledge of MRP system.
• Ability to effectively lead and train employees in their daily job functions.
• Provide training for employees and be a resource for them.
• Remove, store, and load packing materials used in transfer of materials onto returning trucks.
• Transfer materials through out the plant.
• Learn new skills, support other team members, make improvements, and other actions to help the team achieve its goals.
• Participate in 5S continuous improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

                Computer skills are required but not necessary if able to learn.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as purchase orders, pallet tickets, manufacturing schedules, or job orders.  Ability to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to such tasks as inventory control, production tracking, and purchase order verification.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and walk.  There will be a lot of standing at the computer doing data entry. The employee is required to speak and communicate with other employees, be able to hear well enough to recognize warning signals, forklifts, and announcements.  The employee is frequently required to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indoor manufacturing environment.  The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required.  Safety glasses are required and work gloves are recommended.  Occasional overtime and weekend work required.
