Overview
Join the Academic Internal Medicine Section at St. Joseph Medical Center and play a key role in our ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. This position offers the opportunity to combine clinical practice with resident and medical student education in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
Position Highlights
- Work directly with residents and medical students in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Teach lectures, conferences, and core residency curriculum
- Participate in resident mentoring, evaluation, and program development
- Provide care across inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing environments
- Be an integral part of an established Internal Medicine Residency Program
Schedule & Call
- 7-on / 7-off inpatient schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Shared call equally among providers
- Approximately 1 in 4 weekends for inpatient rounding with house staff

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Minimum three years of post-residency hospitalist experience
- Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring medical students and residents
- MD or DO with unrestricted Missouri medical license (or eligible)
- Current DEA registration
- BLS or ACLS certification
This position is not open to new graduates.
