About the role

Primary Purpose
Supervises multiple planning teams or projects, developing operational plans, validating forecasts, and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule integrity and resource efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees multiple planning activities and ensures alignment with section goals.
Develops routine operational plans for material scheduling and inventory control.
Resolves escalated issues related to material availability and supplier performance.
Provides input on policy and procedure improvements for planning processes.
Tracks and reports on section-level performance metrics for material planning.
Coordinates cross-functional collaboration for scheduling priorities and resource allocation.
Guides team leads in implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supports budget adherence for labor and operational costs related to planning.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education

Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Required Experience

Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to contribute to process improvements within defined policy frameworks.
Ability to manage competing priorities across teams or shifts.
Ability to translate departmental goals into actionable planning team objectives.
Knowledge of multiple materials planning activities and their interdependencies.
Knowledge of workforce capacity and its relationship to scheduling outcomes.
Skill in communicating planning impacts to management and adjacent functions.
Skill in reviewing and validating planning decisions made by others.
