Physician (Aerospace Medicine)

About the Position: This position is located at Wilford Hall, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Provide Occupational Medicine services to employees in various occupations, of various ages, and with various health issues.

Perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations.

Counsel employees on workplace hazards and exam results.

Interpret ancillary test results for evidence of possible occupational disease or confounding personal health conditions.

Diagnose and appropriately consult for follow-up evaluations for conditions discovered as a result of the occupational medical examinations.

Examine personnel to determine fitness for flying and special duties, or to recommend continuance, removal, or return to flying status and aviation service.

Supervise the work of assigned clinical staff (e.g., Physician Assistants, Nurses, Technicians).
