About the role

The Advanced Product Study Lab Program CVE (APSL), under the authority of the Head of ADVANCED VEHICLE SEGMENTS DEF & PICKUP/TRUCKS, leads the technical development of vehicles and systems prior to EKR. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure new product design proposals are technically feasible and achieve performance and financial targets
  • Lead AVP2 support of Vision Days
  • Initiate Innovation projects that support New Project needs
  • Be up to date on the competitive landscape of critical automotive technologies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/Aerospace/Computer); other Engineering degrees with combined experience will be considered 
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience 
  • Lead Functional Objective target setting for new vehicle programs, at both vehicle and sub-system levels
  • Vehicle Packaging / Occupant and HMI set-ups
  • Benchmarking and product futuring
  • Coordinate Tech and Innovation initiatives with new vehicle program needs / competitiveness
  • Coordinate Sciences – Advance Feasibility (Dynamics, Structural, Thermal)
  • Compliance requirements
  • PRS – Powertrain technology support
  • Program Management and value proposition support
  • Manufacturing feasibility for new concepts
  • Financial assessments for variable cost and investment levels for new components / assemblies / vehicle projects
