Tech Research/Advanced Architecture Engineer

The Physical Architecture & Concepts Design lead will: 

Develop visionary concepts and vehicle architectures that help position Stellantis as a technology leader. 

The Physical Architecture & Concept Design team focuses on vehicle architecture for products expected to launch in 6 to 10 years

ACTIVITIES: 

• Define, organize, and drive architecture and packaging convergence across the project to optimize product design and process efficiency while meeting program and management targets for quality, cost, timing, and service. 
• Validate the project’s architecture design. 
• Lead trade-off decisions across brands, design, and manufacturing in line with the global design framework. 
• Ensure alignment between technical feasibility and design intent. 
• Ensure cross-functional application of current technical requirements, policies, and architectural standards with internal and external partners across regulatory, customer, and business domains. 
• Guide key decisions on innovation, concepts, and processes. 
• As part of project activities: 
• Define, organize, and lead architecture or packaging convergence for the project to maximize design and process efficiency while meeting program objectives for quality, cost, timing, and service. Manage alignment among styling, technical feasibility, service, and implementation with all project stakeholders.  
• Lead trade-offs with brands, design, and manufacturing in accordance with the global design framework. Ensure project development complies with platform and program requirements, including technical standards and governance expectations.  
• Drive completion of expected deliverables at each milestone, prioritize team activities, assign work, and report the entity’s KPIs to the project.  
• As part of business activities, ensure the cross-functional deployment and application of up-to-date technical requirements, policies, and architectures with internal and external partners. 
• Develop, validate, and share the methodologies and tools related to these standards. Maintain the appropriate competency level within the team and provide support to projects when critical issues arise. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

As part of project activities, this role reports hierarchically to the management of its business entity and functionally to the project’s vehicle synthesis manager(s). The position carries operational responsibility for all team members from the entity assigned to the project. The role works closely with engineering, design, and product teams, coordinating and negotiating with them to define consistent requirements and ensure convergence across architecture, styling, technical solutions, and implementation. As part of business activities, the role is responsible for maintaining the reference framework and tools used across the function and validating their development at a global level. It also represents the function in project and design forums. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience 
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant automotive experience, with a focus on new feature development, innovation, and/or electrical systems and components 
• Experience in automotive design and release, or in a related product field 
• Virtual prototyping skills, including tools such as TeamCenter, CAD modeling, Adobe Suite, video editing software, Matlab, or Blender 
• Physical prototyping skills, including basic wiring and mock-up development 
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and customer-oriented communication skills 
• Self-starter with a creative approach to problem solving

Preferred Qualifications: 

• A minimum of 10 years of automotive experience in new feature and technology development, with broad 
• Knowledge of human-centered design methodologies and design principles 
• Proficiency in an additional language such as French, Italian, or German is a plus
