Interdisciplinary (Engineer/Architect)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Technical Lead supporting design, planning, and construction projects. Responsible for technical and administrative management of Architect-Engineer (A-E) and/or in-house designs for the construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair projects.

Serves as a senior design manager responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, budget development, and contract oversight of highly significant designs.

Applies an extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods and practices as well as knowledge of methods, practices, and processes of engineering and science disciplines.

Responsible for design management which involves difficult or unusual planning, scheduling, negotiation and coordination, and /or require substantial modification or revision of standard guides, precedents, methods and techniques.

Coordinates with other project delivery team members in the planning, design, cost engineering, construction acquisition, and environmental considerations.

Acts as a mediator in resolving complex and/or controversial technical issues arising during design or construction between elements in engineering, design, contracting, and clients.

Reviews, modifies, and approves A-E payment invoices based on progress, deliverables, and milestones achieved.

Reviews design progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost.
