Medical Technician

About the Position This position is located at the Army Health Clinic-South Sound Medical Home in Olympia/Lacey, Washington. The incumbent serves as a Medical Technician in the Clinical Pathology Service, Department of Pathology, and performs a variety of laboratory support functions in support of patient care and diagnostic services. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform testing and rotate through Clinical Pathology sections, including Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Immunology, and Quality Control.

Set up equipment, instruments and apparatus and calibrate various analyzers as required and runs quality control samples on all instruments.

Calibrate analyzers as needed and runs quality-control samples on all instruments, making adjustments when required.

Maintain patient data using laboratory information systems.

Prepare specimens, maintains laboratory supplies, and documents pipette calibration in support of quality control activities.

Monitor inventory and orders laboratory supplies as needed.

Review and document quality control results to ensure accuracy before releasing patient results.
