Job Summary:

Finishing Salvage specializes in restoring finished doors, drawer fronts, and frames to ensure quality standards and minimize waste.  Finishing Salvage identifies defects using visual and tactile inspection, perform precise color matching, and execute repairs through techniques such as cleaning, sanding, filling, and refinishing.

The Salvage and Repair restores finished doors, drawer fronts, and frames to meet quality standards by executing precise repairs to ensure the final product meets both functional and aesthetic requirements that contributes to waste reduction efforts.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect finished products for defects using visual and tactile methods.
  • Recognize product coloration and perform accurate color matching.
  • Conduct repairs through cleaning, sanding, filling, chiseling, and refinishing as needed.
  • Adhere to AWC quality standards for repair processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of repair time and completed work.
  • Follow proper cleanup and material disposal procedures to ensure a safe and organized workspace.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, restocking as needed to prevent production delays.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and labeling of materials throughout the repair process.
  • Support the clean-up and maintenance of work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow.
  • Support company values and continuous improvement efforts by performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
