About the role
PURPOSE/RESPONSIBILITY:
Set up, operate, or assist in the operation of woodworking machines to achieve production goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Change profile tooling, set hold downs, change and adjust profile sanders, make machine adjustments to set up machine.
• Employee must be able to see different characteristics in wood products.
• Use control panel to adjust sizes (Infeed).
• Parts identification training and assessment.
• Read production tickets.
• Place product on infeed belt of a sander or planer.
• Complete quality checks to ensure parts meet quality specifications.
• Perform required TPM tasks for machine.
• Must be able to understand and follow general safety instructions for a manufacturing environment and any specific safety instructions for this position.
• Demonstrate alignment with the CITE principles.
• Complete cross-training requirements to be able to perform the essential functions of positions in client/provider departments.
• Be present for regularly scheduled shift work.
• Work together with team members to meet production goals.
• The employee is required to speak and communicate with other employees. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Education, Experience and Skills
• High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) is preferred.
• Willing to work overtime with little, or no notice. Overtime and weekend work may be required with same day notice.
• Ability to function independently without direct supervision and as part of a team.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as but not limited to production reports, scheduling reports, standard work documents, etc. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Other mathematical skills may be required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw reasonable conclusions through critical thinking skills.
