Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor leads daily warehouse activities to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, selection, staging, and shipment of products. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse associates, coordinates staffing and workflow, monitors performance, and partners with operations, transportation, inventory, customer service, and safety teams to meet service expectations. The Warehouse Supervisor builds an engaged, accountable team and models the PrimeSource BluePrint in every interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse associates across assigned shifts or functional areas; set clear expectations and provide timely feedback.
- Plan daily labor and workflow based on inbound and outbound volume, staffing, equipment availability, customer commitments, and operational priorities.
- Direct receiving, put-away, replenishment, order selection, loading, shipping, returns, and inventory-control activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Promote a safety-first culture; conduct safety talks, reinforce required personal protective equipment, address unsafe conditions, and support incident reporting and corrective action.
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, attendance, overtime, service levels, and quality metrics; communicate results and implement practical improvements.
- Ensure orders are picked, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and on time while protecting product quality and minimizing damage.
- Maintain inventory integrity through location discipline, cycle-count support, discrepancy research, and adherence to scanning and system processes.
- Train employees on standard work, equipment, systems, safety requirements, and job expectations; verify understanding and consistent execution.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and maintain clear communication during shift handoffs, operational changes, and service disruptions.
- Partner with Human Resources and management on attendance, performance, employee relations, recognition, and policy administration.
- Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, succession planning, and retention efforts for the warehouse team.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized facility through good housekeeping, equipment care, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Identify root causes of operational issues and lead continuous-improvement efforts that reduce waste, delays, errors, and unnecessary cost.
- Perform other duties and support special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or additional coursework in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or related operations experience preferred, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety, receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and material-handling practices.
- Experience using a warehouse management system, RF scanners, Microsoft Office, and operational reporting tools preferred.
- Ability to lead employees across different experience levels, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, coaching, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work the assigned schedule, including overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as business needs require.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position regularly works in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and moderate-to-high noise levels. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull; communicate effectively; and safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Required personal protective equipment must be worn. Specific physical requirements should be reviewed for the assigned facility and essential functions.
