Primary Purpose
Supports professional environmental tasks with foundational scientific skills. Applies existing procedures to routine analyses and learns regulatory frameworks, reporting standards, and quality assurance expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with ecological data compilation, organization and statistical analysis, Geographic Information System (GIS) support, and technical reporting.
- Collects samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory.
- Supports the environmental permitting and licensing, and compliance phases of projects.
- Supports the inspection work including indoor air quality inspections, water intrusion investigation and mold assessments.
- Provides support for expert environmental witness testimony and supporting exhibits during project siting approval reviews.
- Assists with environmental delineations and fields surveys in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Helps ensure company compliance, with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permit regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
- Required: Typically requires 0 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required: Ability to communicate technical information clearly within a project team.
- Required: Ability to learn and apply scientific methods related to environmental assessment.
- Required: Ability to work under close supervision while developing foundational scientific competence.
- Required: Knowledge of basic environmental regulations and compliance concepts.
- Required: Knowledge of fundamental environmental science principles, including ecology, chemistry, and earth systems.
- Required: Skill in applying standard sampling or observation protocols under guidance.
- Required: Skill in collecting, recording, and organizing environmental data using established methods.
