About the role

This position is located in the Department of War Office of the Inspector General (DoW OIG), Office of Legislative Affairs and Communications (OLAC) and reports to the Legislative and Public Affairs Director. This position supervises and leads congressional affairs activities for DoW OIG, developing outreach strategies, coordinating responses to Congress, monitoring legislation, maintaining congressional relationships, and preparing leadership for hearings.

Formulates and executes strategic outreach plans to engage Congress and communicate DoW OIG programs, priorities, and authorities.

Synthesizes information across DoW OIG components and leads coordination of timely, accurate responses to congressional inquiries.

Develops strategies and maintains strong working relationships with congressional staff; conducts proactive and responsive engagements.

Monitors legislative actions, analyzes impacts on DoW OIG operations, and develops strategies for responding to legislative changes.

Prepares DoW OIG leaders for hearings, manages testimony development, background materials, advance Q and A, and post-hearing submissions.

Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
