About the role

This position serves as the Administrative Officer for the Police Service within the Greater Los Angeles Medical Health Center, VA Health Care System. The purpose of the position is to perform all administrative functions that include Personnel and Human Resources, Analysis and Problem Solving, Contracting/Procurement, Budget Administration and other related administrative matters in support of the department.

Personnel Administration and Management Leads in administering programs concerning equal opportunity, merit promotion, employee/labor-management relations and position management Space management Approving supply orders and resource management Budgeting/Financial Management Maintains awareness of available resources and makes recommendations regarding needs and distribution Gathering and analyzing budget needs Maintains internal controls for fiscal management Assembles and compiles budget information Procurement/Contracting Manages procurement and contracting for the service Prepares procurement requests and evaluates proposals for work Initiates and prepares contracts ***Performs other related duties as assigned.*** Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
