Medical Technician

About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Directorate of Clinical Support, Department of Pathology and Area Laboratory Services, in Tacoma, Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform waived-complexity testing and phlebotomy, primarily in the Okubo Soldier Centered Medical Home Laboratory on JBLM, in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.

Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks.

Operate laboratory computer system which includes placing orders, logging samples, and entering test results.

Determine appropriateness of incoming specimens (i.e. timing of specimen collection, potential interference, proper specimen type, etc.).

Prepare specimens for shipment to the Madigan Main Laboratory.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
