About the role

Join Casey's Fuel team as a Fuel Program Lead! In this role, you'll help shape the future of Casey's fuel, forecourt, and alternative energy strategy. From optimizing fuel offerings and driving profitability to supporting EV charging initiatives and leading cross-functional projects, you'll play a key role in enhancing the experience for millions of guests across our growing footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and lead the execution of fuel category, forecourt, and alternative energy strategies that increase fuel volume, gross margin, and profitability across Casey's current and future footprint. Own annual plans and performance reporting for assigned optimization programs, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve business outcomes.
  • Develop fuel margin estimates and business-case recommendations for new stores, acquisitions, remodels, and other growth opportunities. Evaluate the optimal fuel products and grades offered by location using customer preferences, historical sales, profitability, competitive conditions, and nearby supply availability.
  • Lead fuel setup, configuration, and data governance for new and existing locations, including product configuration within pricing systems, store fuel setup, fuel hardware master data, and fuel program enrollments.
  • Develop and optimize fuel marketing and customer-communication strategies. Partner with Marketing to create Casey's Rewards campaigns, maintain a fuel promotional calendar, evaluate campaign results, and improve digital price-sign and placard strategies across the store footprint.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage third-party fuel marketing and testing partnerships. Design profitability tests, oversee execution, analyze results, and present recommendations and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Lead assigned growth and optimization initiatives for emerging and complementary energy businesses, including EV charging and bulk propane. Responsibilities include opportunity identification, site evaluations, partnership with Field Operations, utilization and profitability analysis, pricing recommendations, support for contract review, vendor coordination, and execution oversight.
  • Provide project management and facilitate cross-functional collaboration for major forecourt and fuel initiatives, including fuel product availability expansion, dispenser upgrades, fuel brand conversions, and other hardware, technology, or customer-experience improvements. Manage scope, budgets, risks, milestones, resources, status reporting, and deliverables.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned fuel equipment vendors, major oil brand partners, technology providers, utilities, contractors, and other third parties.
  • Identify relevant grant, incentive, tax credit, and infrastructure programs and collaborate with government agencies and advocacy groups to secure funding and maintain required documentation, compliance, and reporting.
  • Partner with Fuel, Store Operations, Marketing, Construction, Real Estate, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, IT, and other teams to develop and implement strategies that strengthen Casey’s competitive position and forecourt experience.

Compensation: Starting pay range: SSC15 ($64,500 - $84,600). Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the typical hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
