Maintenance Supervisor - FT
About the role
Brookestone Meadows is seeking a dependable, hands-on, and service-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and physical plant operations of our long-term care and short-term rehabilitation facility.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the building, grounds, equipment, and systems are safe, functional, well-maintained, and compliant with applicable regulations. This position works closely with facility leadership and all departments to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, patients, families, and team members.
Essential Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance operations and maintenance staff.

Complete routine inspections of the building, grounds, equipment, and mechanical systems.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resident care-related needs.

Perform or coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, work orders, preventative maintenance, and equipment.

Ensure the facility is prepared for and maintained according to applicable federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate with contractors and outside vendors when specialized repairs or services are needed.

Obtain estimates and assist with coordinating repairs and facility improvement projects.

Monitor facility safety and identify potential hazards before they become problems.

Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and emergency response procedures.

Oversee building security, keys, doors, locks, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and other facility systems.

Maintain and inspect fire and life-safety equipment and coordinate required testing and inspections.

Assist with maintaining emergency generators and other emergency equipment.

Monitor maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment and maintain appropriate inventory levels.

Participate in surveys and inspections and assist with correcting identified deficiencies.

Work collaboratively with nursing, housekeeping/EVS, laundry, dietary, administration, and other departments.

Provide direction, training, and support to maintenance team members.

Participate in an on-call or emergency response rotation as required.

Complete other duties as assigned by facility leadership.
Qualifications
-
Previous maintenance experience required; supervisory experience preferred.

Experience in a healthcare, long-term care, assisted living, hospital, or similar setting preferred.

Strong knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.

Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate solutions.

Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.

Ability to read and follow manuals, instructions, policies, and safety procedures.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and respond appropriately to urgent situations.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team.

Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents, families, employees, vendors, and visitors.

Must be dependable and able to respond to facility emergencies when required.

Must be able to pass required background checks and meet facility employment requirements.
