DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF THE NAVY (ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY)

This position will serve as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Environment and Safety (DASN E&S), within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment). In this role, the DASN (E&S) serves as the principal professional advisor on all aspects of Navy and Marine Corps safety, occupational health, environmental, and mission readiness programs.

You will lead environmental planning, compliance, restoration, natural resources conservation, and range readiness programs to support Navy and Marine Corps operations.

You will oversee operational, occupational, and acquisition safety programs to prevent mishaps and manage risks across the enterprise.

You will represent the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment) in meetings with Federal Agencies, the White House, Congress, and federally recognized tribes.

You will serve as the DoW Executive Agent for air and water quality, and act as the DON Federal Preservation Officer for historic assets.

You will direct a multidisciplinary Secretariat staff, managing resources and establishing priorities across the environment and safety portfolio.
