Duties and Responsibilities
- Sets functional goals and investment priorities and aligns work to business roadmaps.
- Oversees governance for program approvals, standards, and measurement; chairs reviews and enforces gates.
- Aligns team objectives to role pathways and strategic programs and manages dependencies.
- Manages budgets and staffing plans and defines hiring profiles and approves sourcing.
- Builds succession and development plans and grows senior learning capability.
- Leads stakeholder communication and produces clear status and decision briefs.
- Manages people‑related risks and maintains risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Drives cross‑functional collaboration with HR, Operations, Safety, and Business Leaders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education
- Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
- Ability to integrate training requirements into operational plans and resource allocation.
- Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration to align development programs with process or technology changes.
- Ability to mentor supervisors on applying consistent development practices.
- Knowledge of departmental capability needs and how they align with broader organizational development priorities.
- Knowledge of metrics used to assess training impact at the departmental level.
- Skill in advocating for resources needed to execute development plans.
- Skill in diagnosing performance trends and collaborating with training partners to define targeted interventions.
