About the role

The incumbent serves as a Fish and Wildlife Administrator with significant managerial, leadership, and advocacy responsibility for programs, issues, and policies relative to the protection of fish and wildlife resources within the Everglades Program of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Salary Range Information (Per Annum): $133,953 - $174,144 *First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.

As a Fish and Wildlife Administrator your duties will include but are not limited to the following: As a senior manager for the Everglades Program in the region, exercises leadership and provides direction for the management and administration of subordinate programs and activities. Provides leadership and direction to ensure appropriate coordination, strategic planning, budget and performance integration, and accomplishment reporting for the Everglades Program in the Region. Represents the Service and participates in agency and interagency planning sessions, workshops, and meetings (including other Service activities, other Federal, Tribal, and State agencies, local governments, organizations, groups, and individuals) for the purposes of communicating and negotiating Service positions and objectives. Responsibilities include the implementation of national policies related to the conservation, protection, and management of fish and wildlife resources.

You must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1 year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. *Additional Requirements located under qualifications*
