Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages project tasks involving GIS, database design and management, and data visualization.
- Conducts comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analyses of spatial data to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
- Produces detailed, high-quality cartographic products (digital and hardcopy) and accompanying reports in accordance with technical guidelines and client needs.
- Performs regular quality control checks of spatial and non-spatial datasets to ensure data integrity.
- Customizes GIS workflow and software programs for data collection, engineering, and environmental applications.
- Compiles, manipulates, and refines geographic data from a variety of sources including public domain, field collection, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
- Provides technical guidance in conducting spatial analysis, interpreting survey data, and generating insights to support ecological assessments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
- Required: Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, engineering, and business partners.
- Required: Ability to provide technical guidance to less experienced GIS professionals.
- Required: Ability to resolve non-routine spatial data or system challenges.
- Required: In-depth knowledge of GIS analysis methods, spatial modeling, and data integration.
- Required: Knowledge of enterprise GIS architectures and data governance concepts.
- Required: Skill in designing and executing complex GIS analyses to support decision-making.
- Required: Skill in reviewing GIS outputs for technical accuracy and usability.
