Facilities Maintenance Technician II

Crane & Industrial Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift)

East Peoria, IL Sunday-Thursday | 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM 

$20-$26/hour DOE + Shift Differential 

Full-Time | Overtime Available 

This is not a crane operator position. You will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing overhead cranes, lifting equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations throughout the plant.

Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) is seeking a dependable, reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting Caterpillar facilities in East Peoria. This position focuses heavily on overhead crane preventive maintenance, crane inspections, lifting devices, overhead doors, and industrial facility maintenance.

A Day in the Life

Your shift may include:

• Performing preventive maintenance (PMs) on overhead cranes and hoists
• Inspecting and servicing lifting devices and material handling equipment
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on cranes and related equipment
• Maintaining and repairing overhead doors and dock equipment
• Replacing motors, controls, switches, relays, contactors, sensors, and other components
• Conducting safety inspections and documenting findings
• Working at heights using lifts and access equipment when required
• Reading basic electrical schematics and troubleshooting circuits
• Completing work orders and documenting maintenance activities
• Supporting emergency repairs to minimize downtime
• Following all Caterpillar and MMS safety procedures

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to work with industrial electrical systems
• Excellent attendance and reliability
• Ability to work independently on 3rd shift
• Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Caterpillar site access

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing PMs on overhead cranes and hoists
• Industrial maintenance experience
• Knowledge of crane components, controls, drives, motors, and brakes
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience maintaining overhead doors and loading dock equipment
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures
• Technical training or maintenance certification
