Manager Business System Analyst

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Management or other related
• 10+ years’ experience as a business systems analyst with a proven track record of carrying out requirements analysis, designing, implementing and supporting business applications.
• Experience directly managing or leading a team.
• Strong understanding of business process design, systems integration, and data management principles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
• Working knowledge of an ERP preferably in manufacturing industry
• Strong experience with following business functions / processes (Order to Cash and Procurement to Pay Cycles, Financials and Business Reporting).
• Hands-on experience with specific platforms such as Microsoft applications, ERP systems, and project management systems.
• Prior Warehouse management experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

The Manager, Business Systems leads the team responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of the enterprise applications that power core business operations — including ERP and other mission-critical platforms. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business strategy, translating operational needs into scalable systems solutions while managing a team of Business Systems Analysts. You will also work with developers to create or promote the functional specifications that meet those requirements, serve as a subject matter expert to the developers building those functions, and to test the developed functionality. This role works closely with Developers and IT infrastructure through each stage of the software development lifecycle as well as demonstrating both existing and new functionality to the customer stakeholders. This job requires an experienced analyst who can partner effectively with all levels of the organization, lead others, drive results, proactively identify and resolve problems, and make challenging decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical fluency in enterprise systems with strong people leadership, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and mentor a team of business systems analysts, setting priorities, coaching performance, and supporting career growth.
• Develop and maintain understanding of customer workflows and business needs to support.
• Deliver precise functional specifications to include functional hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface design and definitions, outstanding issues, data analysis, and data mapping to clients and development staff.
• Gather requirements and help build and document specifications for development.
• Be responsible for direct interaction with clients which include EDI end customers and suppliers, to gather requirements for exchanging EDI business documents
• Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements and collaborate with Architects and Developers to estimate project impact.
• Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication.
• Direct and Manage project development from beginning to end
• Create and maintain documents as defined by the Software Development Lifecycle Methodology (SDLC).
• Own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for core business systems.
• Partner with business stakeholders (Finance, HR, Sales, Operations, etc.) to gather requirements, identify process improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into system solutions.
• Oversee system configurations, integrations, customizations, and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Manage vendor relationships, including software licensing, support contracts, and implementation partners.
• Lead system implementation and enhancement projects from scoping through go-live, including budget, timeline, and resource management.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including system architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, driving root-cause analysis and resolution for recurring issues.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools that could improve business efficiency, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Ensure systems support scalability as the organization grows, anticipating future business needs.
