About the Position: This position is located at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas. This position is for night shift. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Process specimens using equipment, instruments, or techniques that are necessary to prepare them for specific analysis.

Serves as a medical technologist in the clinical laboratory.

Evaluates and selects reagents and supplies maintaining proper inventory of supplies.

Select, perform evaluate, and monitor the performance of routine, non-routine, and specialized test procedure.

Maintain and calibrate instruments.

Responsible for performing a variety of procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, and serology.

Perform a variety of procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, parasitology, and immunohematology including complex analyses and infrequently requested tests.

Use and maintain equipment.

Set up and evaluate quality controls.

Analyze toxic and therapeutic drug levels, solving CBC problems, body fluid differentials, direct blood smears, blood cultures, emergency ABO typing, Rh typing, and cross matching
