About the role
Within the Global Transport & Packaging Department, Logistics Engineering & Decarbonization area, the Global Packaging Manager is responsible for the global governance of packaging-related investments, costs, and processes.
The role ensures control and monitoring of CAPEX investments, proper balancing between OPEX and CAPEX, optimization of packaging maintenance costs, and coordination of initiatives related to new models, ensuring alignment with the global strategy in terms of balancing investment costs and resulting transportation costs.
The position also contributes to global standardization and decarbonization objectives through the optimization of packaging solutions and logistics flows.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Governance & Cost Control:
- Monitor and control packaging-related CAPEX investments at a global level
- Ensure proper OPEX/CAPEX balance through structured cost-benefit analysis
- Monitor and optimize packaging maintenance costs
- Ensure consistency between packaging investment decisions and their impact on transportation costs and emissions
New Model Development:
- Monitor packaging initiatives related to new models, ensuring alignment with the global strategy
- Ensure the proper balance between investment costs and resulting logistics costs
- Monitor adherence to packaging development milestones during launch phases
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Define the most appropriate strategy in line with corporate guidelines
Global Standardization & Systems Alignment:
- Align globally the economic and technical calculation metrics related to packaging
- Standardize processes and procedures across regions and plants
- Align and harmonize packaging control systems
- Develop tools and systems to enhance the sharing of solutions aimed at global packaging optimization
- Drive innovation through the use of AI-based solutions for packaging design
Compliance & Sustainability:
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to packaging and packaging waste
- Support emission reduction initiatives and sustainability improvements related to packaging
- Monitor environmental performance indicators
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Provide guidelines to the Monozukuri team to optimize transportation costs
- Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations to ensure alignment between industrial, economic, and decarbonization objectives
- Support management with structured analysis and strategic recommendations
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
- 15+ years proven experience in packaging, logistics engineering, supply chain, or industrial engineering
- Experience in managing CAPEX investments and OPEX/CAPEX analysis
- Knowledge of new model development processes
- Familiarity with packaging regulations and packaging waste management
- Experience in international environments and cross-functional coordination
- Strong analytical skills and continuous improvement mindset
- Fluent in English
